The Boys’ Air Jordan Retro 9 is the retro release of Michael Jordan’s classic ninth signature model, but in grade school sizing. Originally released in 1993-94, the AJ 9 is notable to Air Jordan history because it was the first model released after Jordan’s first retirement. Created by Tinker Hatfield, the legendary designer who created many of Nike's most popular sneakers, the design was inspired by Jordan’s international stardom, featuring a unique Jumpman and globe logo on the heel, as well as references to Jordan's career in multiple languages on the outsole.
